April 6, 2025 Bulletin

Welcome

Welcome to Brazil Naz. It is our sincere hope that you feel God's presence in our services and Christ's love in our people.

Information about the church, our ministries, upcoming events, and more can be found at brazilnaz.com.

We’d also love the opportunity to get to know you better. Whether you are new to the faith or have been a Christian your whole life, we want to be by your side along your spiritual journey. Please complete a Connection Form so we can keep in touch.

For our families with children

If you have children, we have several offerings for all ages.

On Sunday mornings, volunteers are available in the nursery for children up to age 3. A room is available for nursing mothers, too. Both rooms are located next to the Sanctuary near the west entrance.

Children ages 3-5 who are potty-trained can attend Wee Worship in the northeast classroom. Wee Worship offers playtime and learning activities.

Children in school up to age 12 can attend Children's Church. Children's Church offers lessons that reinforce Biblical values and principles. Children's Church is in the room next to the Library.

Once a month, we have a Family Sunday when children stay in the sanctuary with their family.

Lent Sermon Series for 2025: My Cup Runneth Over

Easter Offering

Whether you participate in Faith Promise giving for world missions, be encouraged to give something extra at Easter time.   The World Evangelism Fund was largely supported in the past by major offerings at Easter and Thanksgiving.  The plan for Faith Promise giving has changed that emphasis somewhat, but we can give an added boost to Nazarene Missions by still participating at those two special times of the year.  Thanks for your giving to missions!

Ladies’ Bible Study resumes April 10

Our Ladies’ Bible Study is getting ready to start again and YOU are invited to join us. We will begin this Thursday at 6pm in the church library. If you would like to purchase a book, they are $7.64 on Amazon. The book is titled, “Max Lucado: Life Lessons from 1 2 3 John & Jude.” Link to purchase: https://www.amazon.com/Life-Lessons-John-Jude-Lucado/dp/0310086647

Prayer Cards

If you still have prayer cards for children/teens, please return them ASAP. We have about 16 cards still out.

Easter Egg Hunt: April 19

KAIROS, Ministry to Prisoners

The ministry of KAIROS (My special time with God) is a worldwide outreach in both men’s and women’s prisons.  Mary Sue Jackson is joining a group of 31 other ladies to bring Christ’s love to 42 inmates at the Rockville Correctional Facility—a state prison for female offenders.  The weekend will be May 1 through 4.  Should you want to contribute to the ministry, please know that every dollar goes directly to KAIROS—not to the ladies serving on the team as volunteers.  A monetary gift of any amount is so greatly appreciated.  If you have questions or contributions, see Mary Sue.

Family Game Night: Friday at 7:00 PM

Bring your favorite game and someone who will be eager to play as well. Let’s meet together, get to know each other a little better, and have some fun competition as well. We are not offering a meal, but you can bring a favorite snack to share with others as we play.

Good Friday Tenebrae Service

We will be having a Tenebrae Service on Good Friday, April 18, at 8pm. This is the service of darkness reflecting on the last words of Christ on the Cross. If you would like to have a speaking part in this service, see Pastor Betts. He will be meeting with participants after morning worship next Sunday to assign parts. There will be one more additional practice during the week.

Crisis Care Kit Update

Rhonda Schafer packed up 6 banana boxes with 30 Crisis Care Kits from our church! She wanted to thank everyone who participated in this mission project. Everything we do for others is a blessing!

This Weeks’ Message

"The Way of Suffering"

Scripture: Matthew 27:22-31

22 Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?"

They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!"

23 Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?"

But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!"

24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it."

25 And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children."

26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. 28 And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" 30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. 31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
